One song, one shopping centre and millions of people

During the second edition of Brasil Coral 2026, the Coro Juvenil Mixto from ISEAM Domingo Zípoli in Córdoba created an experience that went beyond every expectation.

Led by conductor Emilio Chavesta, the young singers surprised visitors to Atlântico Shopping in Balneário Camboriú with their performance of “Magalenha”. The performance was part of the festival programme, but for those passing through, it was an unexpected encounter with music.

Away from traditional stages, among visitors, shops and people going about their day, the voices began to be heard. Some people stopped. Others reached for their phones. Many simply stayed to enjoy the moment.

Among the performers was Camilo Salica, whose solo became one of the most memorable moments in the video. Around him, voices and instruments came together to create a shared experience.

Nobody imagined how far that music would travel.

Figures shared by Brasil Coral · as of 18 October 2026

By 18 October 2026, the video published in collaboration by Brasil Coral, the Coro Juvenil Mixto and Emilio Chavesta had reached extraordinary figures. These are the statistics shared by Brasil Coral for that date: a snapshot of the reach of a performance that kept travelling long after its final note.

But what do those numbers really mean?

If we use an average of 31 seconds per view as a reference, the accumulated views would be equivalent to more than seven years of music playing without interruption. This is an estimated comparison that helps us picture the scale of what happened.

If the more than 6.4 million viewers held hands, allowing a metre and a half per person, they would form a human chain approximately 9,637 kilometres long. Another way of imagining so many people finding their way to the same song.

And if every like represented one second of applause, the choir would receive an ovation lasting more than eleven and a half uninterrupted days. Even the most enthusiastic audience would end up with tired hands.

From social media to Argentina’s national press

The story also reached the media. On 10 October 2026, Cadena 3 Argentina published an article about the experience and interviewed conductor Emilio Chavesta on the programme Una mañana para todos.

The coverage highlighted the young singers from Córdoba, the audience’s surprise and the cultural exchange made possible by their participation in Brasil Coral. A story that began during the festival found new ways to be heard.

What statistics cannot measure

We do not know how many people smiled when they heard these young singers. How many were moved. How many were having a difficult day and, for a few seconds, found a small moment of joy.

Nor do we know how many people felt like singing after watching them. No statistic can measure that. And perhaps that is where the true value of this experience lies.

Brasil Coral was created to bring people together through music: to connect cultures, create shared experiences and discover new stages. That afternoon, in a shopping centre in Brazil, those aims found an extraordinary expression.

A heartfelt thank you

To the members of the Domingo Zípoli Coro Juvenil Mixto, their conductor Emilio Chavesta and everyone who made this experience possible: thank you for your talent, dedication and joy.

For daring to sing where there was no stage. For representing Argentine choral music with such sensitivity. And for reminding us that a performance can reach much further than we are able to imagine.

This is one of the great milestones of Brasil Coral 2026. Not only because of the millions of views, but because of the human, artistic and cultural story behind every one of them.
